Flemington Race 7: #5 Kissonallforcheeks @ $4.00

Kissonallforcheeks is coming into the Let’s Elope Stakes on the back of an eye-catching run behind Chain Of Lightning in the Group 3 Cockram Stakes. The five-year-old mare found the 1200m at Caulfield a touch too sharp, but the step up to 1400m second-up from a spell looks ideal. Having destroyed her rivals in the Shaftesbury Avenue earlier in the year at this track and trip, there looks to be no reason why the Written Tycoon mare cannot bring up a second win from as many starts here. With a second-=up record of 4: 3-1-0 and two wins and two minor placings on soft ground in her career thus far, on paper this race shapes up beautifully for Kissonallforcheeks. At $4.20 with Palmerbet, the former WA mare looks a clear best bet of the day in our opinion.

Rosehill Race 8: #4 Mr Mozart @ $3.50

MR MOZART resumes on Saturday in the Theo Marks Stakes over 1300m, and we are very confident that he will make it four wins in a row. The son of Snitzel finished his autumn campaign with three straight wins in Sydney, winning the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes, Group 3 Doncaster Prelude and Group 3 Hawkesbury Guineas. Both of this entire’s trials have been perfect, with his latest being one of the better trials you will see. Trained by Michael, Wayne & John Hawkes and to be ridden by William Pike, Mr Mozart looks cherry ripe ahead of his first-up assignment. He’s won fresh in the past, he’s won at Rosehill and he is unbeaten on wet tracks, so he has all of his ducks in a row. He looks to get the run of the race from barrier three and he is very well weighted with just 54.5kg on his back. Have something on him in the Epsom Handicap too, because if he wins on Saturday, he will be exempt from ballot for the famous mile race in three weeks’ time.

Doomben Race 9: #8 Arentree @ $4.40

Arentee just went from strength-to-strength last preparation, breaking his maiden at Doomben in April, before winning a Class 3 at Eagle Farm and then only narrowly going down in the Listed Queensland Day Stakes behind Athelric, who returned with a runner-up performance to Eduardo in Saturday’s Concorde Stakes at Randwick. If that isn’t the right form for a Class 6 Handicap at Doomben, we aren’t sure what is. The Chris Meagher-trained four-year-old will have to overcome a sticky gate, but he’s shown throughout his career that he can still be competitive in races even with a tough run. His recent trial win was very good with Ben Thompson in the saddle, so we expect a forward showing on Saturday. If he’s taken this next step this preparation, it won’t be long before he’s back in some top races.

Morphettville Race 1: #2 Anphina @ $2.30

Andrew Bobbin sends his three-year-old filly Anphina to Morphettville where she looks well placed to break her maiden at start five. She brings exemplary form lines into a race like this having been beaten by Quang Tri by two-lengths in the Listed Taj Rossi Final on July 2 and two starts prior split the impressive duo of Brosnan and Lethal Thoughts also at Flemington. Having had a quick little 10-week spell, the three-year-old Rebel Dane filly should be raring to go and from barrier four, Todd Pannell should be able to stalk the speed throughout. Merchant Boss is set to make this a genuinely run 1400m event and armed with a decent enough turn of foot, Anphina should ultimately prove too good for this lot.

Belmont Race 2: #6 Tiffany Street @ $2.50

Unbeaten three-year-old Tiffany Street returns to the races looking to make it win number three from as many starts. The filly by Street Boss won her first two starts comfortably at Ascot back in the autumn as a two-year-old, with Chris Parnham in the saddle both times. While she hasn’t had a public barrier trial in preparation for this first-up run, Daniel Morton could train a rocking horse to win a race at the moment, so we are tipping she will be forward enough for this run. Drawn to do no work from barrier two, Parnham can have this girl handy enough and give her every chance of winning once more.
