Round 9 NRL teams: Cherry-Evans named despite potential ban

The teams are out for round nine of the 2024 NRL Premiership, with some big inclusions and exclusions — and potentially more to come.

Having already lost Haumole Olakau’atu to suspension, the Manly Sea Eagles are sweating on Tuesday’s NRL Judiciary hearing to see whether captain Daly Cherry-Evans will be allowed to line up against the Raiders on Friday night.

Canberra coach Ricky Stuart has made a few changes following his team’s 40-0 defeat to Cronulla last weekend, with Albert Hopoate, Nick Cotric and Elliott Whitehead all called into the starting side.

The Brisbane Broncos regain Selwyn Cobbo and Ezra Mam for Friday’s clash with the Sydney Roosters, who have veteran winger Daniel Tupou back on board.

The South Sydney Rabbitohs have called up Izaac Tu’itupou Thompson to replace the suspended Taane Milne on the wing, with Davvy Moale and Michael Chee Kam also promoted to the run-on side that will face the Panthers on Thursday night.

Meanwhile, the Tigers have made no changes for their clash with the Bulldogs on Saturday, and the Knights have done the same ahead of their date with the Warriors on Sunday.
