Richmond Tigers v Gold Coast Suns Round 6 preview
Richmond will be chasing their second win of the 2025 AFL season when they take on a red-hot Gold Coast Suns outfit at the MCG this Saturday night.
Fresh off a big win over North Melbourne in Gather Round, the Suns remain unbeaten from their opening four games and will be eager to keep the momentum going as they build towards a blockbuster clash with the Sydney Swans next week.
The Tigers showed some early promise against Fremantle last week but were ultimately overrun. Tim Taranto continues to lead from the front in the midfield, while Jayden Short is proving vital off half-back. Still, given Gold Coast’s form, this one appears a tough assignment for Richmond.
Gold Coast are flying and have no fresh injury concerns, while several young stars stepping up. Sitting comfortably inside the top four and playing with confidence, the Suns look every bit a finals contender.
Tigers v Suns R6 team news
Richmond have regained No.1 draft pick Sam Lalor after he overcame a hip concern that sidelined him last round. Noah Balta has also been named to play, despite his ongoing court case, while Ryan Samson comes in as well. Jacob Bauer, Jacob Blight and Tyler Sonsie drop out.

Gold Coast have made one change from the team that demolished the Kangaroos last time out. Connor Budarick returns after a one-week absence, with Sean Clohesy dropping out of the side.
Richmond v Gold Coast predictions
Ben Long has been a livewire in the forward half for the Suns, consistently hitting the scoreboard. Back him to kick four or more goals at $7 with Picklebet in what could be another big day for Gold Coast’s forwards.
Jayden Short’s been busy off half-back all season and averages 23.4 disposals per game against the Suns across his career. He offers solid value for 25 or more disposals at $2.18 with online bookmakers.
Meanwhile, Tim Taranto has a strong record against Gold Coast, collecting 30 or more disposals in three of his last five games against them. At $3.60 with Neds, he’s shaping up as a strong play to reach that mark again.
