Redzel wins barrier trial at Rosehill
Top sprinter Redzel has led all the way in a 1000m-barrier trial at Rosehill ahead of his campaign to defend his title in the $13 million Everest.
Wearing blinkers on Monday, Redzel jumped straight to the front and held off Champagne Cuddles by 2-1/4 lengths with I am Excited edging Everest favourite Trapeze Artist out of third.
Group One Sires’ Produce Stakes winner El Dorado Dreaming has trialled over 1000m at Newcastle, closing late to head Smart Melody.
