Rare chance at double for Purtle
Beaudesert stud owner Brian Purtle has a rare chance to breed and own a metropolitan race double with siblings at Doomben.
The Purtle-owned and bred Enterprise Moss (3YO Hcp) and Trubia (Winning Edge Presentations Hcp) are both acceptors on Saturday.
Enterprise Moss overcame difficulties to win at his first run back from a spell at Ipswich on a heavy track last month and was then second at Doomben two weeks ago in his city debut.
He will stay at 1350m when he takes on a strong field in the three-year-old race.
Enterprise Moss is by Rothesay out of the stakes winning mare Our Sweet Moss who was raced by Purtle.
Our Sweet Moss won the Silver Shadow Stakes, the Dane Ripper Stakes and the Nivison Stakes in an illustrious race track career.
She has proved successful at stud with the best of her offspring so far Trubia who is by Show A Heart.
Trubia is set to resume in the Winning Edge Hcp (1200m) after a spell.
Deagon trainer Michael Lakey trains both Enterprise Moss and Trubia.
“I wasn’t sure about Enterprise Moss on a heavy track at Ipswich but he got the job done and was then good at Doomben,” Lakey said.
Tiffani Brooker, who rode Monsieur Gustave to win the Keith Noud Quality at Ipswich on Wednesday, has been booked for Trubia.
