You can get better rates on bank interest than you can for the South Sydney Rabbitohs ahead of their clash with the Brisbane Broncos at Stadium Australia on Thursday night in round five of the 2021 NRL Premiership.
For the second week in a row, Brisbane head into a game where they are being given more than a 20-point head start from the online bookmakers and a long head-to-head price. Their last two visits to Stadium Australia against South Sydney have been disastrous, conceding an average of 33 points.
The Rabbitohs are averaging 27 per game in 2021 and are getting better by the week, so it is no great surprise to see them paying a mere $1.07 for the win. It was Ryan Papenhuyzen who destroyed the Broncos last week, and they might have trouble handling Latrell Mitchell, who is toying with everyone he comes up against at the minute.
Key matchup: Richie Kennar vs Souths left edge
The attack of Herbie Farnworth has been a bright spot for the Broncos in 2021, but he will be missing on Thursday night. Richie Kennar is a blockbusting centre compared to Farnworth, but slotting in on the right side means he will get plenty of ball and try to tire out the Souths left edge. If he can get on the outside and find some space for Xavier Coates, it may slow down the Bunnies’ biggest strength.

Twice in their last three wins, the left-edge combo of Latrell Mitchell, Cody Walker and Alex Johnston have all scored and made us look like some kind of rugby league savant. Walker is out suspended this week, but the other two remain excellent chances to cross the stripe at some stage. Take the Rabbitohs at the -20.5 start at Neds.com.au for a perfect $2 return. Damien Cook is also a red-hot chance to score at any time, whether backing up through the middle or creating a break himself on the back of a heavy flow of possession.

Brisbane Broncos betting info
Xavier Coates has become our go-to guy for the Brisbane Broncos. Considering he matches up against Josh Mansour, who is handicapped in the air, it makes even more sense to get on Coates, and it could be the week to be a bit greedy and back him for two or more. Despite being named to start, there are a few whispers around that Anthony Milford will be dropped for this clash, leaving a halves combination of Tom Deardon and Brodie Croft to try and muster enough points to beat an awesome side. Deardon does possess a nice short ball, so look for Alex Glenn and Jordan Riki to sneak a try in from close range.

Rabbitohs vs Broncos betting prediction
We gave Brisbane a little too much hope last week to make a close game of it, so take the -20.5 for the Rabbitohs. Wayne Bennett’s men have too much strike out wide and way more depth up the guts, while the class gulf in the spine is also a huge handicap for the Broncos.
South Sydney Rabbitohs -20.5
Rabbitohs vs Broncos same game multi
A combo of Souths at the line with Xavier Coates and Alex Johnston both to score should get you a nice return to start your weekend.
Rabbitohs -21.5 / Coates anytime try / Johnston anytime try
