Oscietra finishes third in debut
The first foal of champion unbeaten mare Black Caviar has finished third in her first start at Flemington.
Oscietra led the field until the 200m mark under jockey Luke Nolen before being overrun by Limestone and Miss Wahoo in the New Year Plate on Sunday.
Nolen, who rode Black Caviar in 22 of her 25 wins, was far from disappointed with Oscietra’s performance and said he hoped the comparisons between the filly and her mother would now stop.
