O’Brien lands final two races at Caulfield

Order Of Command.
Jockey Craig Williams completed a Caulfield treble with Order Of Command winning the open sprint.

Order Of Command won’t be joining a number of Danny O’Brien stablemates on interstate assignments after an impressive victory at Caulfield.

Instead O’Brien will target the Victorian Sprint Series with the four-year-old after his win in the Spicer Thoroughbreds Handicap on Saturday.

Victory on Saturday was a leg of the series which continues through to a final at Flemington in July.

“We’ll try and pick off these races on the way through and keep the record going,” O’Brien said.

“The final is up the straight at Flemington which he’s very good at as well.”

Providing Craig Williams the third leg of a winning treble, Order Of Command ($4) raced away to record a two length win from Jungle Edge ($8) with Firsthand ($8.50) three-quarters-of-a-length away third.

Saturday’s win was the first time Order Of Command had raced around a corner since scoring at Ballarat last June.

His subsequent eight starts were all at Flemington’s straight course, registering two wins.

“He’s effective on the circle tracks but he’s been racing up the straight just because of circumstances,” O’Brien said.

O’Brien completed a race-to-race double with Remember The Name taking out the JRA Handicap.

Remember The Name is Adelaide bound for the Listed Centaurea Stakes (2000m) at Morphettville next Saturday.

“She’s a mare that’s raced all through the summer and autumn and had been very consistent but just that little bit of cushion today, she really seemed to appreciate it,” O’Brien said.

“We were actually just going to wait and run her next Saturday but she was going to need a gallop today, so we decided to run her this week and then she will back-up next week at Morphettville.”
