NRL to extend Las Vegas extravaganza with women’s Test match
The National Rugby League (NRL) is gearing up for an expansion of its Las Vegas event in 2025 by including a women’s test match between Australia and England.
The official announcement is expected to come out this week, along with the schedule for the four-game extravaganza.
The season kickoff in Las Vegas will likely showcase Penrith and Canberra taking on Cronulla and the Warriors in a double-header at Allegiant Stadium.
Footy fans can also look forward to a likely showdown between Super League giants Wigan and Warrington.
NRL’s aim in drawing talent from the United States is to feature a women’s test match.
The anticipated clash between the Jillaroos and England could pave the way for tests involving New Zealand in the future, with the NRL securing a five-year deal in Las Vegas.
Following a turnout at Allegiant Stadium this year where fans flocked to witness the double header action, the NRL is optimistic about boosting attendance in 2025.
Between the legalisation of online sports betting, adding extra games, and expanding television viewership in the United States, they aim to elevate interest in the sport further.
