NBL multi odds and betting tips – Round 10
AND just like that, top spot is well and truly up for grabs in the National Basketball League.
Perth Wildcats still lead the way, but their advantage has dwindled after back-to-back losses against Sydney Kings and Melbourne United.
The Kings have moved into second place thanks to a slightly better win percentage than United, who remain Sportsbet’s $2.70 favourites for the NBL title.
Depending on how things go this week, we could head into Christmas with a new league leader.
Let’s see where the value lies at Australia’s best basketball betting sites.
NBL Multi of the Week – Round 10
- Hawks +3.5 against Breakers
- 36ers to beat Taipans
- United to beat Kings
NBL multi odds = $6.11 at Sportsbet
New Zealand Breakers vs. Illawarra Hawks
Friday, December 21 at Claudelands Arena
Match odds
Breakers $1.56
Hawks $2.44
Line betting
Breakers -3.5 at $1.90
Hawks +3.5 at $1.90
The Breakers ended a five-game losing streak with their win over Cairns Taipans last weekend.
The performance was nothing much to write home about, however, and there are plenty of questions left to answer in Hamilton this Saturday.
The Hawks were on a three-game winning run when they met Sydney last time out.
They were well beaten in that game, but it is worth remembering that only two teams have toppled the Kings all season.
Look for Illawarra to beat the line.
Adelaide 36ers vs. Cairns Taipans
Saturday, December 22 at Titanium Security Arena
Match odds
36ers $1.43
Taipans $2.86
Line betting
36ers -6.5 at $1.90
Taipans +6.5 at $1.90
After back-to-back losses to Illawarra, the 36ers found their groove to take down the Bullets in Brisbane.
Adelaide’s best is very good, as their points average shows, but consistency across the court still eludes them.
If things go to script in Sydney on Thursday, the Taipans will head to South Australia in the midst of a 12-game losing streak.
A lack of firepower continues to hamper Cairns, who have scored 90 points in a game only three times this season.
Keep it simple and back the Sixers to win at home.
Sydney Kings vs. Melbourne United
Sunday, December 23 at Qudos Bank Arena
Match odds
Kings $1.65
United $2.25
Line betting
Kings -2.5 at $1.90
United +2.5 at $1.90
The Kings are the team to beat right now.
The conquered the Jungle last week and could further close the gap on Perth with a home win over their fiercest rivals.
United have already beaten Sydney twice this season, but both of those clashes were at Melbourne Arena.
Their attacking prowess is second to none, but it was the Victorian side’s defensive game that got them over the lines against the Wildcats last time out.
It is very tempting to take the bait and back United at value – so that’s exactly what we are doing.
