NBA Saturday March 16th Multi Analysis
Since LeBron James entered his ‘playoff mode’, the Lakers have gone on a five-match losing streak, dropping them down to the 11th seed in the West.
The Detroit Pistons have won eight of their last 10 matches and are ready for another confidence booster. It should be a walk in the park for the playoff-bound Pistons.
Ben Simmons and the 76ers have tried to compete without their centre Joel Embiid for a month due to a knee injury, but since his return to the court on Monday, they have won two matches. The All-Star centre is a huge inclusion to the starting five and will help the 76ers beat the Kings this Saturday.
Although the Hornets have a better record than the Wizards, Washington plays well on its home deck. When these two teams met eight days ago, it was the Hornets who won by a single point on their home court, but now that the Wizards will have the city advantage, they will win this match.
The Pelicans are the hardest team to assess since the trade period, even though they didn’t make a trade.
Since requesting a trade that was unfulfilled, Anthony Davis either plays very well or doesn’t play at all. This unpredictability will cause some trouble for the Trailblazers. Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum are a headache for the opposition on offence and will be strong enough even if Davis plays well, to defeat the Pelicans.
The current first and eighth seeds in the eastern conference is the next match up.
The ESPN Power Index has the given the Bucks a 70% likelihood to win this match against the Heat. Khris Middleton will be a huge asset for the Bucks in this clash with his shooting prowess, whilst Dwayne Wade may miss due to a bruised elbow.
Two of the teams that are supposedly in rebuild mode round out the multi.
At this point in the season, it would be better for the Bulls to lose matches, rather than win.
The Clippers have a strong bench lead by Lou Williams, whilst the Bulls will be without top scorer Zach LaVine with a knee injury. It all points towards another strong showing from LA’s dominant team.
