NBA opening night multi betting – October 17-18 tips & specials
AN AUSSIE-BRED superstar is ready to open the 2018-19 NBA season with a bang.
Reigning NBA Rookie of the Year, Ben Simmons, is the headline piece as everyone’s favourite basketball league returns in a bumper opening day.
The Philadelphia 76ers and the Boston Celtics will renew a famous rivalry in the opening game of the season before the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Golden State Warriors will kick things off in the Western Conference.
To celebrate the return of the NBA, we’ve delivered a multi that includes matches from Thursday, returning a very healthy $16.69.
NBA Wednesday 17th – Thursday 18th October Multi:
Boston to beat Philadelphia – $1.42
Golden State (-11.5) to beat Oklahoma – $1.92
Detroit to beat Brooklyn – $1.45
Indiana to beat Memphis – $1.41
Miami to beat Orlando – $1.61
Milwaukee to beat Charlotte – $1.86
Combined NBA Multi Odds – $16.69
Boston at home has been a tough bridge to cross in recent years. Philadelphia, which struggled against Boston in the playoffs last season, will want to prove a point early in the season, but Boston has been bolstered by the return of Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward and should get the job done in what we’re expecting to be a thriller.
Golden State should inflict pain from the onset and be finished with the Thunder by the third term. They have the ability to destroy OKC, meaning the -11.5 points is easy to take.
The new-look Detroit Pistons have found their groove late in the preseason and look like a playoff contender. With Andre Drummond accompanied by the likes of Reggie Jackson and Blake Griffin, there is potential if this team can stay healthy and Brooklyn on opening night should be a layup for them.
Victor Oladipo will lead the Pacers into the playoffs this season. They will easily be capable of beating the Grizzlies, who are in for a stint near the bottom of the Western Conference standings.
Out of the two Southeast sides, it should be the Heat that outplay the Magic. They played a few days back in a pre-season match and the Heat won by a single point. With Hassan Whiteside and Justice Winslow on defence, the Heat will beat the Magic.
Milwaukee and Charlotte are very even sides in terms of talent. There is one big difference that leans us in the direction of the Bucks. Giannis Antetokounmpo had a 30-point triple double in his last outing against the Timberwolves. If that form carries into Thursday, then it will be a win for the Bucks.
Best Bets for 2018 NBA Opening Night – Wednesday 17th October
Golden State to Win / Total Points Over 225.5 @ $2.37:
The Warriors will win, so the challenge here is the total points. The class of the Golden State starters will put a world of hurt on OKC scoring-wise and even without MVP Russell Westbrook, Paul George should be able to make sure the Thunder uphold their end of the deal.
Embiid and Irving to Score 50 + Combined @ $2.75:
Embiid has talked himself up as a MVP-chance this season and will want to kick things off with a big performance on opening night. Irving could go crazy in his first match back and go on a scoring rampage. We think a combined 50 points for these two is a monty.
Ben Simmons – Points + Rebounds + Assists to be Over 31.5 @ $1.81:
In his rookie season Ben Simmons recorded 12 triple doubles, filling the stat sheet every night of the season. Simmons can do anything on the court, which makes him a very rare and incredible player to watch. If Simmons can build upon his promising preseason form, he could easily get over 31.5.
