NBA betting preview, daily multi & top tips | February 12, 2022
After an entertaining day of basketball we at BettingSite return with more betting tips for Saturday basketball on Feburary 12, 2022. We went 2-1 with our tips yesterday so hopefully we can continue that and finish out the week strong. See the top betting tips & NBA multi for Hornets & Pistons, Nuggets & Celtics and Timberwolves against the bulls.
Charlotte Hornets vs Detroit Pistons betting tips
The Hornets started off this NBA season looking like one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference and it felt like they were going to build off their momentum from last season and make the jump into the top tier of the East. Unfortunately for them, they have struggled as of late. Despite strong play from star sophomore LaMelo Ball and most improved player candidate Miles Bridges, they have lost six in a row and are playing poor basketball as of late. All of their good will from their strong start has been lost during this skid as they have fallen down the standings and now cling on to a play-in spot.
The Pistons haven’t been any better and are also on a six game slide. We tipped against them yesterday and that turned out to pay dividends. While they are one of the worst teams in the league with their dismal 12-43 record, picking them in this game is more of a pick against the Hornets than an endorsement of the Pistons. We don’t expect an abundance of motivation to hit the Hornets right before the all star break so take the Pistons and the points. And maybe don’t watch the game. It’ll be ugly, but in a game between two falling teams, it should be closer than a seven point difference when the clock hits 0.
Detroit Pistons +7
Denver Nuggets vs Boston Celtics betting preview
In a matchup between two good playoff hopefuls, this game is probably the game of the night. Denver has been middling all season long and led by their star big man Nikola Jokic, they have the team to win any game. Jokic is truly one of the best players in the league and is vying for his second straight MVP award. He is averaging 25.8 PPG, 13.6 RPG and 7.9 APG in one of the best seasons from a centre ever. Outside of him, however, they do not have a ton of talent and may struggle to score.
Over the last 15 games, the Celtics have the best defence in the league. They have won six games in a row and are suffocating teams as of late. After a slow start with their rookie head coach Ime Udoka, the Celts have seemingly figured it out. They now sit in the seven seed in the East and will look to continue their rise up the standings. At the start of the season, scoring was hard to find outside of their two stars; Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Recently, more players have picked up their scoring and coupled with an astounding defence, the Celtics are the team no one wants to play right now. Take the Celtics at home -6 with the online bookies and expect them to win by 10 against a good but unimpressive Nuggets team.
Boston Celtics -6
Minnesota Timberwolves +3 at Chicago Bulls betting tips
Despite being marred by injuries, the Bulls still sit as the two seed in the East thanks to a ferocious start. In one of the surprises of the season, the Bulls are playing good basketball with a whole new set of starters after rebuilding this offseason. They are better than the Timberwolves and have been great at home this season, going 18-9 against the spread. Chicago has a deep team, full of guys who can get hot and hit tough shots when necessary.
So why would we like the Timberwolves in this matchup? It comes down to one guy, Karl Anthony Towns. The 6’11’’ bruiser is playing great and is averaging 24.3 PPG to pair with 9.5 RPG. Ultimately, the Bulls do not have anyone to stop him. Their best big man, Nikola Vucevic is questionable tonight but even if he does play, he doesn’t possess the defensive acumen to slow down Towns. We expect Towns to coast to 30 points and carry a mediocre Timberwolves team to a big win against a strong Bulls team.
Minnesota Timberwolves +3
