Multi betting, tips, bookie specials & more for NRL Round 14

NRL betting preview round 8
AFTER a fortnight of shortened NRL rounds, we’re finally back to a full quota of league games.

As if a full weekend of league games was not enough, there are several games across five days that have serious finals ramifications heading into round 14.

The Raiders and the Panthers both need to win to keep in touch, the Eels and the Cowboys are fighting for their position inside the eight while the Storm and the Sharks meet in a top of the table clash to kick off the round.

It looms as an exciting round of league.

Manly Sea Eagles vs. Newcastle Knights

Friday, June 9 from 6 pm AEST, Lottoland, Sydney

Manly meet Newcastle in the first leg of our NRL multi this weekend, and we are expecting the home side to easily account for the Knights to kick us off.

The sixth placed Sea Eagles have dominated their opponents in recent times, and we do not see how the Knights logically overturn one of the worst records in league.

Newcastle has not won at Brookvale – now Lottoland – in over ten years, and have not beaten Manly at all since 2012.

We have no doubt Manly will win, and we are happy to take what is – in our minds – over-inflated odds for the good thing of the weekend.

Parramatta Eels to win – $1.21

Brisbane Broncos vs. South Sydney Rabbitohs

Friday, May 9 from 6 pm AEST, Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane

The Broncos will be looking to bounce back after back-to-back losses while the Rabbitohs need to find form fast if they are to salvage anything from this season.

The Broncos had their playing stocks depleted over the origin period, which led to losses to the Warriors and the Roosters, but the men in maroon gain million dollar man Anthony Milford this week, who will add plenty of offensive power.

The Rabbits are fresh off their bye but before that they were very poor, losing to the Eels by 8 points.

Brisbane has won four straight against the Bunnies, and unless something goes seriously wrong they will make it a quintet of victories over South Sydney.

Brisbane Broncos to win – $1.28

Penrith Panthers to defeat the Canberra Raiders

Saturday, June 10 from 5.30 pm AEST, Carrington Park, Bathurst

A finals-shaping match up looms on Saturday as the Panthers and the Raiders meet in Bathurst.

Penrith has turned its season around after a lacklustre beginning to the campaign. Their last start 38-point win over the Bulldogs last week was as strong as we have seen this year from any side and indicative of just how far they have progressed.

The Raiders suffered a heartbreaking one point loss to the Sea Eagles last week. The Green Machine has been hammered by injures and they again lose two important forwards in the form of Shannon Boyd and Dunamis Lui to knee injuries.

It will be a close contest but we are favouring the Panthers. They are in red-hot form and will be hard to hold out if they can maintain last week’s rage.

Penrith Panthers to win – $1.85

St George Illawarra Dragons vs. Canterbury Bulldogs

Monday, June 12 from 4 pm AEST, ANZ Stadium, Sydney

The Queen’s Birthday clash between the Dragons and the Bulldogs rounds out our NRL multi this week, and both teams need a win for very different reasons.

The Bulldogs could be out of finals contention if they lose on Monday. Their loss last week to Penrith was abysmal and the kind of defeat that can define a season.

The big red V can move within two points of the league leaders if things go their way on Monday. The Dragons overcame the Tigers by four points in a gritty win that keeps their fantastic season rolling.

We are expecting a big effort out of the Dogs following their capitulation last week but we still believe the Dragons will be too much for them. St George has attacking flair that can exploit a flimsy Canterbury defence.

St George Illawarra Dragons to win – -192.31
