Mishani Hustler to take a step up in grade

Promising two-year-old Mishani Hustler is set to take a step up in class and in distance after his fighting win at Doomben on Saturday.

Mishani Hustler ($4) made it four wins from five starts when he beat the favourite Shamurt ($2.30) by three quarters of a length with a short neck to Clockwise ($14) in third in the Listed Dalrello Stakes (1200m).

Mishani Hustler has shown a lot of pace out of the barriers in all of his races and Currie was thinking of keeping him to short races such as the Champagne Classic (1200m) on May 12.

But Currie said the Group Two BRC Sires’ (1350m) on May 26 was now also on the colt’s agenda.

“The pace of race in the Sires’ should be slower. It should give him a chance to settle better and get a further trip,” Currie said.

“I have been saying all along that this is a good horse. He deserves a chance at the Sires’.”

Mishani Hustler is also rapidly looming as a possible spring carnival horse for Currie.

“But we don’t want to get ahead of ourselves at this stage,” Currie said.

Currie’s faith in 2kg claiming apprentice Taylor Marshall was rewarded with another clever ride from the young rider.
