Miami Grand Prix F1 betting tips

The 2024 F1 World Championship continues this weekend as we head to Miami for the first of three American races this year.

In the third visit to the track, the sprint format is in play once again, while Sunday’s Grand Prix is expected to be a one-stop race.

Two weeks ago in China, it was championship leader Max Verstappen who continued his excellent run of form with wins in both the sprint and the main race. McLaren’s Lando Norris secured second place with an impressive drive in the main event, while Verstappen’s Red Bull teammate, Sergio Perez, rounded out the podium.

As a result, Verstappen with 110 championship points leads his teammate by 25 points, while the Ferrari pair of Charles Leclerc (76) and Carlos Sainz (69) are not too far behind.

Miami Grand Prix 2024 betting odds

As expected, Verstappen enters this weekend as a comfortable favourite after winning the previous two editions of this race. Perez is a long way behind in second, while Norris is ahead of the two Ferraris after his excellent drive in China. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri along with the Mercedes and Aston Martins round out the top 10, but they offer more value in a podium or top-six finish.

2024 Miami GP betting strategy

Charles Leclerc has yet to finish outside the top four this season. In a Ferrari that is clearly the second-fastest car, the Monegasque driver will be hoping to replicate his second-place finish at Miami in 2022. Although Lando Norris is favoured ahead of the Ferrari, McLaren have never secured points at this track, so back Leclerc as the safer option for a podium finish at +162 with top online bookmakers.

Lewis Hamilton had by far his best weekend of the season in China as he secured a second-place finish in the sprint race. With the Aston Martins expected to struggle, while the McLarens haven’t done much around this track, expect Hamilton to continue improving with a top-six finish for Mercedes at -108.7 with BetOnline.

The most consistent of the rest, Haas driver Nico Hulkenburg has secured points in three out of five races. Fresh off announcing his move to Kick Sauber next season, the German seems the most likely pick to push for a low points position. If anything happens at the front of the grid, Hulkenburg offers great value at +700 for a points finish.
