Conor McGregor’s anticipated return to the UFC has been officially confirmed by Dana White, the president of the organisation.

McGregor is geared up to battle Michael Chandler in a showdown at UFC 303 set to take place on June 30th at the T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas during international fight week.

The fight is scheduled to happen within the welterweight limit of 170 pounds.

The announcement of McGregor’s comeback has stirred up excitement in the world of combat sports after the UFC 300 event that recently took place in Las Vegas.

White unveiled this headline-making bout during a press conference following a fight that caused a buzz within the MMA community.

MMA betting sites are currently in favour of the ex-double champ McGregor at $1.80, while Michael Chandler currently sits at $2 odds to defeat the Irishman.

Apart from McGregor’s return, White also disclosed that there will be a title defense between Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier at UFC 302, in New Jersey happening around the time in June.

The eventful card will feature Sean Strickland facing off against Paulo Costa in a five-round main event.

When questioned about the challenges involved in finalizing McGregor’s anticipated comeback match, White quickly dismissed any concerns.

He commended McGregor for his professionalism and astuteness, emphasising his unwavering dedication to the sport after stepping away from it temporarily.

There had been talk going on all week about an announcement from McGregor during the Pay Per View segment of UFC 300.

However, White surprised everyone by taking a note from a staff member during the press conference leading up to the announcement.

McGregor himself had earlier sparked speculation about his comeback by sharing it on Instagram before the announcement.

He confirmed his fight against Chandler, the Bellator champion, with the caption, “THE FIGHT IS ON! MCGREGOR VS CHANDLER! See you on the date I said.”

The post included an image of McGregor facing off against someone in a Teletubby outfit instead of Chandler.

With McGregor’s long-awaited return looming, MMA fans are in for a night of combat sports action at UFC 303.
