Marshall near perfect on Mishani

Mishani Hustler
Tayor Marshall now has four wins from five rides on Mishani Hustler.

Jockey Taylor Marshall has continued his near perfect record on top Queensland three year old Mishani Hustler with a win in the $125,000 Jewel Prelude Three Year Old at Doomben.

Mishani Hustler ($2.60) went straight to the lead and fought back after looking beaten in the straight to better Defence Missile ($4) by 3/4 of a length with 1-3/4 lengths to Winter Passage ($6).

Marshall has now ridden Mishani Hustler five times for four wins and a second to star sprinter Zousain in the Group Two Champagne Hcp last winter.

“He has been really good to me but he s a class horse. He again showed a lot of heart in the straight,” Marshall said.

Jeff Lloyd who rode Defence Missile was amazed at Mishani Hustler’s ability to kick back in the straight.

“I thought I had him covered the entire straight but he was just too strong,” Lloyd said.

Mishani Hustler and Defence Missile are both owned by one of Queensland’s biggest owners in Mick Crooks and can give him another quinella in the $200,000 Aquis Three Year Old Jewel at the Gold Coast.

Trainer Ben Currie missed the win because he is banned from attending Brisbane Racing Club meetings due to a multitude of charges which are yet to be resolved.

Currie missed last week because he was barred from entering horses but won a stay to keep training.

He had a double at Ipswich on Friday at his first day back with runners.
