Lions Secure #1 seed in the NFC, NFL Wildcard Weekend confirmed

Detroit Lions betting news

The Detroit Lions have secured a first-round playoff bye and the #1 seed in the NFC as they comfortably beat the Minnesota Vikings 31-9 in the final game of the NFL season.

Detroit running back Jahmyr Gibbs starred with four touchdowns, while the defence kept the Vikings out of the endzone.

As the highest scoring team in the NFL, top sports bookmakers have the Lions as the current favourites for the Super Bowl at $4.00.

On the other hand, the Vikings have now clinched the #5 seed and are forced to head to Los Angeles on Monday night (Tuesday 12pm AEDT) to face the Rams.

Elsewhere in the NFC, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers secured the NFC South title with a 27-19 win over the New Orleans Saints, pushing the Falcons outside the playoff spots.

The Bucs will host the Commanders on Sunday night (Monday 12pm AEDT), who are led by rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Sitting in the #7 seed, the Green Bay Packers will be sweating on an injury to quarterback Jordan Love, who hurt his elbow in a 24-22 loss to the Chicago Bears. They head to Philadelphia on Sunday (Monday 8:30am AEDT) to face the Eagles.

In the AFC, the Denver Broncos secured their playoff spot with a 38-0 win over the Kansas City Chiefs.

Having already secured the #1 seed last week, the Chiefs rested most of their key players for the game. They hold the second-best odds to become Super Bowl Champions at $4.25 with Neds.

For the Broncos, they now face a tough challenge on Wildcard Weekend, as they head on the road to face the Bills this Sunday afternoon, paying $4.50 for the win with Playup.

The LA Chargers secured the #5 seed with a 34-20 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. They face the Houston Texans on Saturday in the opening game of the weekend.

The Baltimore Ravens secured the AFC North title on Saturday as they comfortably dispatched the Cleveland Browns 35-10. As a result, they will host their divisional rivals, the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday night (Sunday 12pm AEDT), where they enter as the biggest favourites of the weekend at $1.18 with major sports betting apps.
