Latrell Mitchell faces NRL breach notice over controversial image

Latrell Mitchell issued breach notice
South Sydney Rabbitohs fullback Latrell Mitchell received a breach notice from the NRL due to an image surfacing on media showing him in a room with white powder present.

The circulated picture captured Mitchell leaning over a table with powder, prompting the NRL to express concerns about his actions tarnishing the reputation of the game.

Mitchell now has five business days to respond to the notice.

The NRL has chosen not to disclose any penalties until they receive Mitchell’s response.

This breach notice adds to a series of incidents involving Mitchell this year.

Previously, he faced backlash for using language in a match interview and was suspended for three games due to on-field misconduct.

Despite these challenges, Mitchell has made a comeback, securing a spot in the State of Origin Blues squad.

However, his season is now uncertain following a foot injury that is set to keep him out of the season until round 26 of the 2024 NRL Premiership.

The Rabbitohs have made no further comments since their original post on Monday, August 12.

“The South Sydney Rabbitohs have been made aware of a photograph circulating through social media of Latrell Mitchell following a personal appearance in Dubbo on the weekend.

The Club has informed the NRL Integrity Unit about the photograph.

The Rabbitohs will be making no further comment at this stage.”

The Rabbitohs are currently priced at $1.46 to defeat last-placed Wests Tigers with the leading NRL bookmakers on Saturday, August 17.
