Three points above the drop zone, Celta Vigo need a win to avoid getting embroiled in the relegation brawl. The Sky Blues are nine points adrift of Las Palmas, who have suffered four successive defeats and are winless in their last seven league games. With the way things are, Claudio Giráldez’s men could nick a surprise win in their fight for survival.

Rayo Vallecano v Osasuna

Sunday, April 21 – 12:15am AEST – Campo de Futbol de Vallecas

Registering just one win from their last 12 league games and two goalless draws in as many outings, Rayo Vallecano have been struggling to find goals. With recent losses to Valencia, Real Madrid and Girona — all teams above them — Osasuna will be eying all three points against the struggling Red Sashes.

Valencia v Real Betis

Sunday, April 21 – 2:30am AEST – Mestalla

Having won last Friday after suffering four consecutive defeats, Real Betis will be hoping for a good result against Valencia. Only two points separate the two sides, with the visitors holding sway in sixth place. Valencia have conceded only one goal in their last five outings, and that solid record will certainly be put to the test.

Girona v Cadiz

Sunday, April 21 – 5am AEST – Municipal de Montilivi

Despite playing only their fourth season in the Spanish top flight, Girona look poised to continue with their impressive campaign when they host Cadiz. Third on the table, Míchel’s side could have an easy evening against relegation-threatened Cadiz, with Artem Dovbyk adding to his 17-goal tally.

Getafe v Real Sociedad

Sunday, April 21 – 10pm AEST – Estadio Coliseum

With three wins and a draw in their last four outings, Real Sociedad should advance their chase for a European place with a fine display against their hosts. Getafe will have their work cut out, as they have only won once in their last seven La Liga matches, shipping in 10 goals in the process.

Almeria v Villarreal

Monday, April 22 – 12:15am AEST – Juegos del Mediterraneo

Almeria have endured a torrid season, winning just once in their 31 league games. At the foot of the table with relegation seemingly inevitable, their agony is set to continue against a free-scoring Villarreal side pushing for European football.

Deportivo Alaves v Atletico Madrid

Monday, April 22 – 2:30am AEST – Mendizorroza

Out of the Champions League and nowhere near title contention, fourth-placed Atletico Madrid will be looking to finish the season strongly with a victory against Alaves. The hosts have often struggled against Diego Simeone’s men, and this encounter won’t be any different.

Real Madrid v Barcelona

Monday, April 22 – 5am AEST – Santiago Bernabeu

Real Madrid can all but secure a record 36th La Liga title with a win against bitter rivals Barcelona. Eight points ahead of Xavi’s side, Los Blancos — who have suffered only one league defeat this season — should give Barca a tough time on home turf. Real forward Vinicius Junior scored a hat-trick when these sides met in the Spanish Super Cup final in January, and there is no reason he can’t find the back of the net in this clash.

Sevilla v Real Mallorca

Tuesday, April 23 – 12:15am AEST – Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan

Sevilla have had an abysmal season that has condemned them to the bottom half of the table. The Red and Whites still have unresolved defensive concerns, conceding far more than they score. Mallorca’s problems are, however, far more severe, which could allow their hosts to capitalise and make it three wins in three.
