Knee injury sidelines filly Pure Elation

One of the country’s most promising fillies, Pure Elation, has sustained a knee injury.

Pure Elation held a nomination for next month’s Thousand Guineas in Melbourne but Racing Victoria stewards reported on the filly would not race again in the spring.

An impressive winner of the Group Two Furious Stakes in her season return at Randwick on September 1, Pure Elation had been nominated for Saturday’s Group Two Danehill Stakes at Flemington.

But the Peter and Paul Snowden-trained filly, who has won three of her six starts, was not among acceptances on Wednesday.
