Randwick Guineas winner Kementari has been retired and will stand at DArely for $33,000.

Godolphin’s Kementari has been retired and will stand at Sheikh Mohammed’s Darley Stud in the upcoming breeding season.

Darley has set a first season fee of $33,000 for the 2018 Randwick Guineas winner who was also placed five times at the highest level.

He will stand alongside his own sire Lonhro at Darley Kelvinside.

In the Randwick Guineas he beat Pierata, Trapeze Artist and Ace High and subsequently ran third behind Winx and Happy Clapper in the George Ryder Stakes.

Kementari is from Redoute’s Choice mare Yavanna and is a half-brother to Group One placegetter Telperion.

“You need only look at the quality of the horses that finished behind him in the Randwick Guineas to see the sort of horse he is,” Darley’s head of sales, Alastair Pulford, said.

“And he’s by Lonhro, one of the great colonial-bred stallions, who just keeps proving how big an influence he is on the Australian racing and breeding industry.”
