Kate Goodrich charged by RV stewards

Trainer Kate Goodrich will face the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board after being charged by Victorian stewards for not allowing them access to her stable for a race day inspection of a horse.

Stewards issued a charge against Goodrich on Wednesday.

The particulars are that Goodrich did not allow two members of RV’s compliance assurance team to conduct a race day stable inspection on December 12 or examine the horse Street Stalker who was entered to race at Kilmore later that day.

In doing so, stewards say Goodrich obstructed or hindered them from carrying out their duties.

Goodrich has had a long-standing grievance with the Kilmore Racing Club and RV and said on social media at the time she had offered to let the CAT inspect her stable in the presence of police.

She said she then offered to take Street Stalker to the track for inspection by race day staff but that was rejected and stewards withdrew him from his scheduled race.

Last week, Racing NSW stewards upheld their Victorian counterparts’ position and refused to let Street Stalker race at Corowa on the NSW side of the border.
