Jordan Grob to ride in New Zealand

Apprentice Jordan Grob will join fellow Victorian rider Jake Bayliss at trans-Tasman trainer Mike Moroney’s New Zealand stable which he operates with Pam Gerard.

Bayliss has been riding successfully in New Zealand since late last year with his wins including the Group One Railway on Volpe Veloce.

“He’ll be here by the end of the month,” Gerard told NZ Racing Desk.

“He can ride light (52kg) and he’ll gain more confidence here. He’s a good young rider.”

The 22-year-old Grob has been with Mick Price at Caulfield.

Bayliss will ride She’s A Thief, one of three runners for Moroney and Gerard in Saturday’s Karaka Million (1200m) at Ellerslie with Scorch and Bocce completing the trio.

“She’s A Thief hasn’t put a foot wrong and she’s a very, very classy filly,” Gerard said.

Matt Cameron will ride Bocce while Leith Innes will be aboard Scorch.
