JackJumpers vs Breakers NBL betting tips & odds – 18/11/2022

Friday night NBL tips off in Tasmania with the JackJumpers taking on the high-flying New Zealand Breakers at Silverdome Stadium. Both ball clubs will be looking to bounce back from narrow losses to the Bullets and Kings respectively last week, as both sides look to continue their strong starts to the 2022/23 NBL season.

The Breakers have been victorious in three of their last five matches against the JackJumpers, with those three wins coming in their last three games alone. However, the Breakers have struggled to go to Tasmania and win, having only won one of their last three games there.

The JackJumpers have already suffered losses to clubs like the Taipans, Phoenix, and Breakers this season. Those clubs are towards the top of the NBL ladder, while the Breakers have shown they are well and truly capable of taking care of sides lower than them on the ladder. The road trip may be tough, but the Breakers will be looking to follow up on their dominant win over the JackJumpers in their last match and should win this as well.

The Breakers have shown so far this season that their wins often come in low scoring affairs, where they apply enormous amounts of pressure on their opponents defensively by getting into passing lanes and controlling the ball well when in their possession. Their last match where the Breakers won by a huge margin is somewhat of an outlier, should the Breakers return to winning ways on the road it should be in a low scoring affair again and the total match points will fall below 159.5 ($1.95).

While a low-scoring game is expected, that does not mean the Breakers don’t know how to put the points on the JackJumpers. In their last match, Barry Brown Jr supported an evenly scoring starting five to beat the JackJumpers by a big margin. In that match, the Breakers had the two highest-scoring quarters of the game. Look for this trend to continue with the Breakers recording the highest-scoring quarter of Friday’s match ($1.95).

Key matchup: Barry Brown Jr vs Rashard Kelly

The matchup between these two guards off the bench will again likely decide the outcome of this match. Brown came off the bench against the JackJumpers and Kings recently, scoring in incredibly efficient fashion while rebounding the ball and pushing the pace on offense to help lead his team. Rashard Kelly has been shooting the ball incredibly poorly in recent weeks for the JackJumpers, but as the old saying goes, “shooters shoot”. Kelly will be looking to fight his way out of the slump he finds himself in, and will need to do so quickly on Friday to stop the Breakers from getting a win on the road.
