Invinzabeel scores welcome win at Rosehill

Invinzabeel wins at Rosehill
Invinzabeel has won the Thoroughbred Breeders NSW Handicap at Rosehill.

Jason Collett has found the key to getting Invinzabeel back to the winner’s circle, riding him to a narrow victory at Rosehill.

Until Saturday, the Chris Waller-trained gelding had not won since May but his good record meant he carried top weight of 59kg in Saturday’s Thoroughbred Breeders NSW Handicap (1400m).

Collett had the $26 chance up on the pace and travelling comfortably and the six-year-old fought off Just Dreaming ($4.20) to win by a head.

“He likes to be cuddled not crowded,” Waller’s racing manager Charlie Duckworth said.

“He needs things to go his way and doesn’t want to be shoulder to shoulder with other horses.

“He was full of running at the top of the straight and hopefully he can put a couple together now.”

Invinzabeel’s stablemate Zumbelina ($3.20) displaced the Kris Lees-trained Just Dreaming as favourite in a late betting flurry but could only manage seventh.

Queensland sprinter Time To Torque ($17) continued to earn travel expenses with his third.

Trained by Kelly Doughty at the Gold Coast, Time To Torque picked up $3600 for his fifth in the greys race at Flemington during Melbourne Cup week and another $8900 on Saturday.
