Hobart Hurricanes vs Perth Scorchers BBL betting preview
The Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers are both in the bottom half of the Big Bash League ladder, but either could jump into the top four with a win against the other this Monday.
D’Arcy Short notched the first BBL hundred of the decade as the Canes triumphed when these teams met at Optus Stadium on January 5.

This time around there will be a slight change in personnel for both teams. The aforementioned Short is not playing, but Matthew Wade is in, while Ashton Turner is out for the Scorchers.
With odds level at $1.90 apiece, there is no telling what will happen when these sides renew hostilities at Blundstone Arena.
Hurricanes vs Scorchers top batsman tips
Matthew Wade 30+ runs
While D’Arcy Short is a huge out for the Canes, Matthew Wade is about as good a replacement as anyone could ask for. The feisty left-hander is coming off a solid stint in Australia’s Test team, and that showed as he struck 61 at The Gabba on Thursday in his first hit of the BBL season. Wade is a gun at this level and looms as crucial to Hobart’s fortunes going forward.
Cameron Bancroft 30+ runs
We have been very careful which teams we choose to back Cameron Bancroft against, and thus far it has worked out well. Both times we decided to tip Bancroft, he succeeded, and the common trend was teams without a star bowler. The Hurricanes have a few players that are dangerous, but they also have a few that Bancroft can work around and build his innings.

Scott Boland 2+ wickets
We believe Scott Boland is back to best BBL form judging by his last few contests, which include a three-wicket haul against the Brisbane Heat. He took two wickets against the Scorchers in his first game back, which should give him confidence for Monday’s rematch. Boland has come good at an optimal time for the Canes, as they need to find other ways to win whilst D’Arcy Short is away in India.
Chris Jordan 2+ wickets
One player that has been ultra-consistent for the Scorchers is Chris Jordan, who is both lively in the field and when he storms in with pace. Jordan has already taken eight wickets this season in seven games, with a best of 3/29. Jordan couldn’t dismiss D’Arcy Short in the previous contest, but if he can have a go at the middle order, they will fall to his good line and length.
Hurricanes vs Scorchers betting predictions
Hobart Hurricanes to win @ $1.90 with BetOnline
This is as close to a coin toss as it gets, but we think the odds are in favour of the Hurricanes. If Matthew Wade’s form holds up and he finds some support at the crease, it is going to be hard to stop the Hurricanes.
