High selling at Easter Yearling sale

Bidding has been brisk at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale with five lots fetching more than $1 million in the first hours of the auction.

The highest so far is a Snitzel-Ichihara colt bought by James Harron Bloodstock for $2.8 million while a Fastnet Rock colt out of Legally Bay fetched $2.3 million.

Melbourne trainer Lloyd Kennewell and Spendthrift Farm joined forces to buy the first million dollar lot on Tuesday, a $1.7 million colt by Japanese stallion Deep Impact out of Grito, offered by Arrowfield Stud.

Grito is a half sister to Sung, the dam of Sires’ Produce winner and Golden Slipper runner-up Microphone.

A Brazen Beau-Just Discreet colt made $1.15million while a Snitzel-Lucky Racquie colt fetched $1 million.
