The Big Bash League clash will be a crucial one for Brisbane, which is in desperate need of a win and at 2-4 and has its season teetering on oblivion.

Melbourne, in second place at 4-3 after two-straight victories, will be without its captain and star Aaron Finch, who is away on international duty for the Australian ODI team against India.

These teams duked it out just days ago and it was the Renegades who were victorious, convincingly winning by eight wickets after chasing 144 with more than two overs remaining.

While Brisbane captain Chris Lynn would be disappointed not to make the Australian side, his presence in this game is a big boost for Brisbane, which will need a big score out of him to register a positive result here.

GMHBA Stadium in Geelong has not yet been a happy hunting ground for the Renegades, but the odds favour a positive result for the home side.
