Gujarat Titans vs Rajasthan Royals match preview
It’s a clash of in-form sides at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday afternoon as Gujarat Titans (GT) host Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Match 23 of IPL 2025.
Both teams come into this one with growing confidence after strong recent showings—Gujarat riding a three-match winning streak, while Rajasthan are building momentum with back-to-back wins of their own.
With clear skies overhead and temperatures likely to hit 40°C by first ball, conditions are going to be testing—especially under the floodlights where dew and reverse swing could play key roles.
Gujarat have looked like the well-oiled machine they were back in 2022. Their latest win saw them chase down 153 against Sunrisers Hyderabad with ease, thanks to a calm, composed display from the top order and yet another strong bowling effort. Mohammed Siraj continues to be their standout weapon with the ball, having picked up nine wickets in four matches and maintaining a tight economy in the middle overs.
What’s particularly impressive is how Sai Kishore has flown under the radar. The left-arm spinner has quietly become one of their most consistent threats and looks far more dangerous than Rashid Khan this season.
After a stuttering start, Rajasthan Royals finally seem to have found their groove. Their top order came to life in the last two matches, smashing a combined 387 runs. Yashasvi Jaiswal was the star in the last outing, cracking 67 off 45 balls in a classy return to form, while Riyan Parag and Sanju Samson have offered flashes of power through the middle.
And while Jofra Archer’s comeback has been under the microscope, he looked like his old self in the win over Punjab—bowling express pace, taking early wickets, and fielding like a man possessed.
Both teams are in form, but Gujarat look the more balanced side at this point, with contributions across the board and a solid bowling unit that’s delivering results. The Royals are certainly dangerous—especially if Jaiswal gets going—but Gujarat’s composure and home advantage might just tip the scales.
Gujarat Titans vs Rajasthan Royals predictions
Facing his former franchise for the first time, Jos Buttler will be extra motivated to make a statement. He’s already notched a half-century this season and his aggressive intent is perfectly suited to this batting-friendly surface. Backing Buttler to raise the bat again is paying +200 with BetOnline and it is too good a price to pass up.
Sai Kishore has taken eight wickets in four games and was superb in the middle overs again last match. With Rashid Khan underperforming and Rabada unavailable, Kishore is excellent value to lead GT’s wicket tally at +350 with top cricket betting sites.
Riyan Parag has made a bright start to IPL 2025, but this matchup doesn’t suit him. Gujarat’s bowlers — especially Siraj, Kishore and Rashid — have been clinical against middle-order batters. Parag is likely to come in against spin or late-innings pace, and that’s where he’s most vulnerable. With Gujarat bowling well and match-ups stacked against him, backing the under looks smart.
