Good Standing off to a flyer in Brisbane
Trainer James Cumming has plenty of options with three year old Good Standing after his impressive win at Doomben on Saturday.
Good Standing ($4.80) was given the run of the race by Damian Browne before coming away to beat Sylpheed ($6) by 2-3/4 lengths in the Listed Queensland Day Handicap (1350m).
Cummings has always had a good opinion of Good Standing who won the Group Three Norman Robinson Stakes at Caulfield during the spring.
Stable representative John Keogh said Good Standing would now press on to the Fred Best Classic (1300m) at Eagle Farm.
“From there James will probably send him into the Queensland Guineas.

“But James has plenty of options with him. He is a nice horse on the up.”
Jockey Damian Browne is predicting a big winter for Good Standing and hopes he can stay on him.
Browne believes Good Standing will have no trouble with the 1600m of the Queensland Guineas.
Jeff Lloyd said Sylpheed had run home strongly and could also be a Guineas horse.
I’m A Rippa ($17) led for much of the before being collared in the final 150m.
