Round two of the 2022 AFL season will finish on a high note as the Fremantle Dockers seek revenge against the St Kilda Saints at Optus Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The most recent clash between these sides got out of hand in favour of the Saints, as they marched towards a massive 58-point victory in the final round of the 2021 season.
Sean Darcy will return for the Dockers this week after missing round one with a calf complaint, bringing his huge frame and elite tap-work back into Fremantle’s arsenal.
Brett Ratten will also make a couple of changes, with Dean Kent and Mitch Owens out of the side and Tom Highmore and Ben Long expected to come in.

Justin Longmuir brings a defensive mindset into all of Fremantle’s contests, but his methods have helped the young side stay in touch with many strong teams during his brief tenure to date.
However, that approach could be thrown out the window considering how easily Collingwood moved the ball against the Saints last weekend, which exposed a vulnerable St Kilda defence on multiple occasions.
Fremantle’s small forwards could shine this weekend if the Dockers move the ball quickly from the back half, meaning the likes of Sam Switkowski and Lachie Schultz will be worth a look in the goalscorer betting markets.
Key matchup: Andrew Brayshaw vs Jack Steele
Two of the most exciting midfielders in the AFL will go head-to-head this weekend when Andrew Brayshaw and Jack Steele lock horns in the guts. Steele is now an out-and-out star of the league, while Brayshaw is still breaking out into a top-level performer.
Both players are capable of winning heaps of contested possessions, but they each also run hard on the outside and provide options for their teammates up the ground. We fully expect both Brayshaw and Steele to lead the way for their respective sides in the disposal count this Sunday night.
Fremantle vs St Kilda match predictions
The Dockers are hard to beat in the west, and we think they will be strong at Optus Stadium this Sunday. Sean Darcy will make a huge difference around the ball, while James Aish is a classy player in the backline. The Saints smashed the Dockers last year in round 23, but the roles could be reversed this weekend if Fremantle kick accurately at goal.
Fremantle by 25+ points
Fremantle vs St Kilda disposal betting tips
Andrew Brayshaw eclipsed the 30-disposal mark on eight occasions last season, which included a career-high 39 touches against a strong Richmond midfield. The former no.2 draft pick started his season with a 28-disposal effort, but that was without Freo’s gun ruckman in the side. Darcy’s return should help all Fremantle midfielders collect more disposals, but Brayshaw will be the biggest beneficiary.
Andrew Brayshaw 30+ disposals
Fremantle vs St Kilda same-game multi
Andrew Brayshaw is an emerging star in the midfield who will collect plenty of disposals, while Lachie Schultz is crafty enough up forward to sneak through a couple of majors in a big Fremantle victory.
Fremantle 25+ / Brayshaw 30+ disposals / Schultz 2+ goals
