Five for Godolphin in Melbourne Cup
The global Godolphin operation will have five runners in the Melbourne Cup, with a full field of 24 to take part.
Hartnell, trained in Australia by John O’Shea, will be joined in Sheikh Mohammed’s royal blue by the Charlie Appleby-trained Qewy and Oceanographer with Saeed bin Suroor to saddle Beautiful Romance and Secret Number.
Hartnell is the favourite for the Cup on Tuesday before Oceanographer, which cemented a place with victory in Saturday’s Lexus Stakes.
