EPL Thursday & Friday betting tips & odds – February 24-25

EPL betting predictions

We have officially reached the stretch of the 2012/22 English Premier League season where teams really need to buckle down and close out the campaign strong. With a congested fixture list, many of these teams’ depth and stamina will be tested. It’s a light schedule for this slate of midweek games, but there is still some value available and a few good opportunities to make some money.

Burnley vs Tottenham Hotspur

This game will take place this Thursday morning (AEDT) and will feature two teams coming off of huge wins. Burnley destroyed a better Brighton team behind their new signing, striker Wout Weghorst. He appears to have helped the Clarets turn a corner as they garnered only their second win of the season. Despite their immense struggles, Burnley can still save their season from relegation with a couple good results. However, they are who they are and they are in 19th place in the EPL. It is important to not overreact to one good result and this is an example of that.

The same can be said for Tottenham Hotspur, who slayed Man City over the weekend in one of the games of the season. New coach Antonio Conte brought in young Swede Dejan Kulusevski in January and he, combined with proven studs Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, gives this team the attacking prowess to win any match. While Burnley are not Man City and Tottenham should dismantle the inferior team, Spurs are known to have let-down matches. That being said, Tottenham at -120 is a good bet in a game they should win by two or three goals.

Watford vs Crystal Palace

In another Thursday game that is relatively uninteresting for the neutrals, Crystal Palace will head to Watford in a match that could have some consequences in the relegation battle. Palace are in 13th place and eight points clear of Watford, who sit in 19th, but there is still some pressure on the Eagles to get a few more results and firmly stake themselves as a mid-table team. They have had an unimpressive year without a lot of flash or excitement. While they have a suitable team, they lack star power; and although they are better than Watford, the draw is very realistic and enticing to bet on.

Watford need to act soon in order to avoid relegation. In a dramatic season that sees them on their third coach, they haven’t been able to find anything that works. They have young talent like Ismaila Sarr, but it hasn’t mattered up to this point. Although Watford stink, they have enough in the locker to pull out a draw at home against a mediocre Palace team. They will be motivated to turn things around and this is a good spot for them to take that first step.

Arsenal vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Both teams have seen relative success to this point in the season, and you could argue they have been playing their best soccer of late. Wolves are coming off a hard-fought victory against Leicester City, and despite losing their best player, Adama Traore, to Barcelona, they have stayed on course. Wolves now sit in seventh place and are within striking range of Arsenal. In this Friday morning game, the odds suggest Wolves have no chance to muster a win, and that’s just false. Although a Wolverhampton win is unlikely, the odds should be tighter than this and taking the value here could really work out.

Arsenal have a strong, young team, and even though their fans will say they are disappointing, they are about where they should be. They sit in sixth place and have been winning the games they should win recently. That has always been the thing with Arsenal, as they have a tendency to just come out flat against worse teams. That is what makes Wolves an enticing bet. While it is unlikely that Wolves win, taking the value here and in spots like this will be beneficial in the long run. These teams are more evenly matched than the odds suggest, so take a punt on the long shot.
