Sheffield United v Everton

Both of these squads are off to terrible starts and have gained zero points through three matches. That being said, this newly promoted Sheffield United showed a lot of heart last time out and ended up losing by only one goal to Manchester City. Such a result can kickstart a smaller club, and they should carry that momentum into this home fixture. Everton have yet to score this season and haven’t shown any semblance of a consistent attack. Take the Blades to win at home and secure their first points of the season.

Brentford v Bournemouth

Brentford will carry their strong start into a very winnable fixture against Bournemouth. The Bees have five points through three games and have showcased the attacking talent that propelled them to a ninth-place finish last campaign. Brentford have already scored six goals in this young EPL season and will now face a Bournemouth side that is struggling defensively. The Cherries have conceded six goals in their three games, including three in their only away game this season. Take Brentford to win at -140 with the best EPL bookmakers.

Burnley v Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham have fared surprisingly well without club legend Harry Kane, amassing seven points through three games. They have scored two goals in each game, and in this match against Burnley, that should suffice. Burnley have only scored one goal this season, and the newly promoted side should find it difficult to match up with Spurs. Tottenham seem to have found success with Ange Postecoglou’s new system, and the -115 head-to-head odds are a bargain for this contest.

Chelsea v Nottingham Forest

While Chelsea have had a tumultuous start to their 2023-2024 campaign, a few of their new signings have shown potential star quality. One of them is 22-year-old Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson, who scored his first goal for Chelsea last weekend and has consistently found good chances. Jackson has averaged 3.7 shots per game through Chelsea’s first three EPL matches, and he should have plenty of opportunities to score against a Nottingham Forest side that has already conceded six goals through three games.

Brighton & Hove Albion v Newcastle United

These are two ascending teams in the English Premier League, but both will enter this game coming off brutal losses. Brighton lost at home to an inferior West Ham side, and Newcastle blew a one-goal lead against Liverpool when they were a man up. With that said, we expect this to be a slow game where both teams try to control the pace and play a cautious style of football. Both teams are capable, but there isn’t much to distinguish between them, so the draw is very much in play at decent odds.
