EPL 2021-22 Matchweek 4 preview, best bets & top odds
The first international break is behind us as the EPL returns for Matchweek 4 of the 2021/22 season. With Tottenham sitting two points clear at the top of the table as the only team with a perfect record, all eyes will be back on the chasing brigade. BettingSite’s soccer expert presents his best bets for the upcoming weekend of Premier League action.
Crystal Palace v Tottenham
Saturday, September 11 at 9:30pm AEST
Arguably the two biggest shocks in the 2021/22 EPL season are that Tottenham are top of the league after three games and that Harry Kane is still a Spur. With Kane hanging around to continue his formidable partnership with Son Heung-min, Tottenham are now a side many will not want to come up against. Crystal Palace have managed to scrape two draws from their opening three matches, including a 2-2 tie with West Ham, but we anticipate Spurs will give them plenty of headaches in attack. With most EPL betting sites giving Palace a one-goal head start, we expect Tottenham to get the job done by at least two goals and extend their unbeaten streak to four games to begin the season.
Tottenham (-1.0)
Manchester United v Newcastle
Sunday, September 12 at 12am AEST
There is no doubt that Manchester United “won” the transfer period in signing Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and welcoming back the G.O.A.T, Cristiano Ronaldo. During United’s start to the campaign it was clear they needed a proven striker, with the likes of Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial clearly needing better support up front in the absence of Edinson Cavani. Even though CR7 may not start, they are coming up against a Newcastle line-up that look set for a relegation battle this season. We expect United’s all-round class on the field to be the difference in front of a jovial home crowd, so we are taking them to cover the two-goal handicap on offer at the top soccer betting sites.
Manchester United (-2.0)
Arsenal v Norwich
Sunday, September 12 at 12am AEST
It has been a horrific start to the new EPL season for both Arsenal and Norwich, who occupy the bottom two rungs on the EPL ladder with zero points and only one goal between them. Despite going down 5-0 to Manchester City prior to the international break, we expect Mikel Arteta’s Gunners to finally find their way onto the scoresheet this season with a 2-0 win over their recently promoted rivals. With the likes of Ben White, Nicholas Pepe and Eddie Nketiah expected to return, Arsenal should have enough star power to beat a Canaries side who have shipped 10 goals in three games.
Arsenal to win 2-0
