English Premier League round 23 betting preview, top odds & tips

After a round of mid-week matches just days beforehand, the packed Premier League schedule continues this weekend with 10 matches. Below are our free tips and previews for Matchday 23 of the 2023/24 Premier League season:

Everton vs Tottenham Hotspur

Saturday, February 3 – 11:30pm AEDT – Goodison Park

With a ten-point deduction and being winless in their past five games, Everton now find themselves inside the relegation zone. Welcoming the fourth-placed Tottenham, expect Everton’s poor form to continue, as they haven’t beaten the north London side since 2020. Despite the constant errors plaguing Tottenham in defence, they have found a way to get results throughout the season and should be too good here.

Brighton and Hove Albion vs Crystal Palace

Sunday, February 4 – 2:00am AEDT – American Express Stadium

After their 4-0 defeat to Luton Town during the week, the pressure is on Brighton to bounce back in order to keep their top-six hopes alive. Facing their biggest rivals, Crystal Palace, expect a close contest after four of the last five between the sides have ended 1-1. Palace barely scraped past the last-placed Sheffield United during the week and just lost star winger Michael Olise to injury, so we are backing the home side to be too strong here.

Burnley vs Fulham

Sunday, February 4 – 2:00am AEDT – Turf Moor

Winless since their 2-0 away win at Fulham back in December, Burnley will be looking to do the double over the London side to secure vital points in their relegation fight. With the second worst defence in the Premier League, Burnley need major improvements in defence if they are going to salvage their season. Whilst Fulham haven’t beaten Burnley in their last five matches, this match presents a great opportunity to show their class as they offer great value with the top soccer bookmakers on the road.

Newcastle United vs Luton Town

Sunday, February 4 – 2:00am AEDT – St James’ Park

Following their best-ever result in their 4-0 thumping of Brighton during the week, Luton Town have now made their way out of the relegation zone for the first time this season. Newcastle also enters this match in great form after securing a massive 3-1 away win over Aston Villa. While Newcastle come in as big favourites, they have conceded six goals in their last two games at home, so look for both teams to score here.

Sheffield United vs Aston Villa

Sunday, February 4 – 4:30am AEDT – Bramall Lane

Despite sitting last with the worst attack and defence in the Premier League, Sheffield United were able to take a point off Aston Villa earlier in the season despite their stellar run of form. Looking to avenge that poor result and improve on their 3-1 defeat to Newcastle during the week, Aston Villa need a big win here. Needing the three points to stay in touch with the top four, back Villa to put in a comprehensive performance as they secure the win while cashing the over.

Bournemouth vs Nottingham Forest

Monday, February 5 – 1:00am AEDT – Vitality Stadium

After securing a tough point against West Ham during the week, Bournemouth look to continue their solid season as they welcome relegation contender Nottingham Forest. Starting the season with clear offensive concerns, Forest has found form in attack lately, scoring ten in their past five despite mixed results. As a result, with Bournemouth at home, look to pair their win with both sides getting on the scoresheet in what shapes as a high-scoring clash.

Chelsea vs Wolverhampton Wanderers

Monday, February 5 – 1:00am AEDT – Stamford Bridge

Following their crushing 4-1 defeat to Liverpool during the week, Chelsea remains cemented in tenth spot. Despite being the most unpredictable side in the league, Chelsea have been exceptional at the Bridge this season and have been unbeaten there since October. Just two points behind them on the table, the Wolves have lost just once against the Blues in their last seven meetings. As such, backing both teams to get on the board is the smartest bet here with the leading betting sites.

Manchester United vs West Ham

Monday, February 5 – 1:00am AEDT – Old Trafford

Fresh off a 97th minute winner against Wolves during the week, United face a critical match with fellow top-six contender West Ham. The winner of the past two clashes between the sides, West Ham, are undefeated in their past six matches, including a 2-0 win over United. While United have seemingly resolved their attacking problems, West Ham have the quality to handle the tough away trip and should create a tight contest.

Arsenal vs Liverpool

Monday, February 5 – 3:30pm AEDT – Emirates Stadium

The headline act of the weekend is the third-placed Arsenal hosting first-placed Liverpool. After their thrilling 1-1 draw earlier in the season, Arsenal have fallen away from the title fight, leaving Liverpool at the top of the table with just one loss all season. While the Merseyside club have been more impressive, missing Mohammed Salah and playing away from home, expect this one to be a close battle.

Brentford vs Manchester City

Tuesday, February 6 – 7:00am AEDT – Gtech Community Stadium

With Liverpool facing a tough match the night before, Manchester City may have an excellent opportunity to close the gap as they head to Brentford. While they are expected to win comfortably, City need to be wary of their bogey side, as Brentford have won the past two matches between the two sides. Despite their top form, City have conceded in ten of their past eleven matches, so look to add both teams to score in the City win for added value.
