Edmonds finds key to in-form From Within
Trainer Toby Edmonds believes there is one simple reason flying mare From Within has regained her best form,
And that is to just let her run.
A short-priced favourite, From Within ($1.30) made it three wins in a row when she breezed home by four lengths to Scorcha ($26) in the Paddy Walsh Painting Plate (1000m) at the Sunshine Coast.
She ran a sizzling 56.88 seconds which wasn’t far off the course record.
The impressive thing was jockey Jeff Lloyd had plenty of horse left over the final 600m where From Within clocked 32.89 seconds which is outstanding up the tough Sunshine Coast straight.
Edmonds said despite From Within’s good form he was inclined to send her for a short break.
“I have got her for another year and she has done a good job this campaign but it might be time for a rest. I don’t think we will be going south this year,” Edmonds said.
Originally trained in Sydney, From Within started favourite in the 2017 Magic Millions 2YO Classic but was well beaten and her form dropped off before joining Edmonds.
“They were trying to teach her to run from behind but with a horse like her you just have to let her run. It is paying off now,” he said.
