Dragons vs Sea Eagles NRL betting preview
There are some clubs who fold under adversity and others who thrive.
The Manly Sea Eagles are the latter, and they’ve had more than their fair share of self-inflicted drama this week with the suspension of Addin Fonua-Blake.
He is a huge omission for the Manly side, but rest assured Des Hasler will get the best out of Fonua-Blake’s replacement, Taniela Paseka.
Hasler is famous for doing his best coaching work in situations like this. He’s missing multiple star players, but a reflection of how the other side are going is that Manly are still slight favourites with NRL bookmakers.
The St George Illawarra Dragons do have the advantage of playing at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium for the first time since round two, where they fell 32-28 to Penrith.
Traditionally, it’s been one of the rare unhappy hunting grounds for the Sea Eagles, who have won just 11 of 33 at Kogarah in their history.

The over/under of 36.5 points for the match might not be breached, with Manly showing last week they aren’t anywhere near as formidable in attack without Tom Trbojevic.
Their defence will still be top shelf and the Dragons will have to settle for the smallest of margins if they get up, so expect a Sunday evening dogfight.
If you think Manly can survive a torrid affair, backing them at the head-to-head price into under 36.5 total points presents good value at $3.57.
Manly skipper Daly Cherry-Evans tried his heart out last start and showed he is still a threat close to the line, so his $29 first tryscorer odds are worth considering.
Trying to pick where Manly are vulnerable in defence is never an easy task, but the Saints might fancy their chances going down their right, which brings Mikaele Ravalawa at $13 into the picture.
Matt Dufty is most comfortable drifting down that side looking for support, and his improved ball-playing might be good enough to strip the Sea Eagles for numbers.
