Devil’s Temptation underlines potential

Devil’s Temptation showed he is a horse of the future with a win on debut at Eagle Farm.

Toowoomba gelding Devil’s Temptation finally got a chance to show his ability when he won in good style at Eagle Farm.

Devil’s Temptation has had a rocky path to the racetrack and was having his first start on Saturday.

Starting at $8.50, Devil’s Temptation had far too much pace, leading all the way to score by 1-3/4 lengths to Couldn’t Refuse ($7.50) with three-quarters of a length to Ready To Rumble ($8.50).

Devil’s Temptation is by Group One winner Falvelon out of the former smart mare Bradbury Chocolate who won 11 races when trained by Donald Baker.

The two-year-old gelding cost $145,000 as a yearling and is now raced by Kevin Seymour who is also one of the leading pacing owners in Queensland.

Trainer Tony Sears said he had been telling Seymour for six months that Devil’s Temptation would prove a smart horse.

“But we have had a few problems along the way. He was even scratched at the barriers last month,” Sears said.

“I knew he could gallop because he has been working with my good horse Rock Beat.”
