Collingwood vs Richmond betting preview
Two of the biggest teams in the country will relaunch the AFL 2020 Premiership season when Collingwood and Richmond go head-to-head at the MCG this Thursday.
These sides have played in some crackers over the past three seasons, further expanding on their already strong rivalry.
Although neither side has played a game in over 10 weeks, injuries are still going to play a part.

Bachar Houli is a chance to miss with a calf issue for the Tigers, while Adam Treloar is out for the Magpies with his own calf injury.
Collingwood coach Nathan Buckley revealed in his press conference that Jaidyn Stephenson has not yet done enough to earn a spot in the side, meaning he will need to play in the scratch match this Wednesday.
Dustin Martin looked a little sore at training during the week, but the 2017 Brownlow Medal winner will be fine to face the Magpies this Thursday.
Both sides are prepared for a tough contest across the entire ground, with the winner a chance to be the premiership favouritism by the end of the round.
Collingwood vs Richmond disposal betting
Steele Sidebottom 25+ disposals
The shorter quarters will allow a running machine such as Steele Sidebottom the chance to stay on the ground for the entire match if he wants to. Sidebottom is a known accumulator of the footy who racked up 41 disposals against the Tigers in the famous 2018 preliminary final win. We think the crafty midfielder will have a good game in the 2020 season restart.
Trent Cotchin 20+ disposals
The years where Trent Cotchin would consistently find the footy 30 times a week are behind him, but the courageous Richmond captain still knows how to make an impact in the midfield. Cotchin is a very strong player that uses his experience to get to the right spots, which he can do against the Pies if he matches up on a younger, less experienced player such as Tyler Brown.
Collingwood vs Richmond goalkicking tips
Jordan De Goey 3+ goals
Jordan De Goey has a few runs on the board against Richmond, and we expect him to be a force again this Thursday. Darcy Cameron is set to make his debut for Collingwood, which will give De Goey room to work further up the ground or deep in the goal square. If Dylan Grimes doesn’t stick to De Goey like glue, he will kick plenty of goals.
Tom Lynch 2+ goals
Tom Lynch is one of the best key forwards in the competition due to his strong hands and accurate kicking. Jordan Roughead and Darcy Moore will have a tough time matching Lynch on the lead if the entry kicks are unpressured. The Tigers often look to Lynch late in quarters to take a big mark, so he should boot a couple of majors.
Collingwood vs Richmond match predictions
Over 135.5 total points
The Tigers piled on over 100 points against the Blues in round one due to their extremely potent forwards, while the Magpies scored 86 points against the Bulldogs. The big space around the MCG will allow the small, dangerous players on both sides to cause trouble inside 50, and the dry weather is also going to help keep the scoreboard ticking over.
Collingwood to win
The inclusion of Darcy Cameron as an aerial option in the forward half for Collingwood will force the Tigers to shuffle their defensive matchups, which could see Jordan De Goey or Brodie Mihocek let off the leash. While the Pies are missing Adam Treloar in the midfield, they are flush with options on the ball and should prove too strong with Brodie Grundy dominating the ruck.
