Champions League 2nd leg semi-finals betting predictions & picks

Champions League semi-finals preview

After an exciting first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, we are now into the final two matches to decide who reaches the final. With a pair of exciting matches held in Paris and Madrid, here are our free soccer betting previews for the second leg semi-final matchups:

Paris St-Germain vs Borussia Dortmund

Wednesday, May 8 – 5:00am AEST – Parc des Princes
Aggregate Score: 0-1

Borussia Dortmund head to Paris holding a 1-0 lead after striker Niclas Fullkrug proved the difference in the first leg. However, they still remain the outsider to make it through to the next round with top betting sites.

It is not the first time PSG have had to overcome a first-leg deficit this Champions League campaign after they overcame a one-goal margin to beat Barcelona in the previous round. They will have to do without centre-back Lucas Hernandez after he went down with an injury last week but given that they didn’t have a Ligue 1 match on the weekend, their squad should be well rested.

PSG secured a 2-0 win when these two sides played each other at the Parc des Princes earlier this season, but Dortmund are now a much improved side. They held star striker Kylian Mbappe quiet in the first leg and if they can cover the Parisians main attacking threat once again, they offer great value at $2.10 with top soccer bookmakers to make it through to the final.

Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich

Thursday, May 9 – 5:00am AEST – Estadio Santiago Bernabeu
Aggregate Score: 2-2

It was a thrilling first leg in Munich as goals from Bayern Munich pair Leroy Sane and Harry Kane were cancelled out by a Vinicius Jr brace to keep an even tie as we head to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Fresh off winning the La Liga title on Saturday, Real Madrid enter this clash as favourites at home, with odds of $1.40 to qualify for the final. On the other hand, Bayern suffered a 3-1 defeat to VfB Stuttgart while also being forced to play a full-strength side due to their poor domestic position.

Real Madrid enter this match with a clean bill of health but Bayern are expected to miss several key attacking options as a Raphael Guerreiro injury on Saturday added to their extensive injury list.

It is hard to see the Germans pulling off an upset here as they face the 14-time Champions League winners. Expected to dominate possession, expect Vinicius Jr to remain the main threat for Madrid, adding to his five-goal Champions League tally.
