Super Saturday NRL action wraps up in Brisbane with the Broncos hosting the Wests Tigers at Suncorp Stadium. The Tigers are facing a number of issues on and off the field, while the Broncos will not have forgotten the loss to Wests in 2022 that derailed their season.

The Tigers have made multiple changes to their bench with Jake Simpkin, Justin Matamua and Starford To’a coming into the side for Shawn Blore, Daine Laurie and Alex Seyfarth. The Broncos have named an unchanged line-up to the one that secured a last-minute win over the Dolphins last round.

The Broncos and Tigers are meeting this season in vastly different circumstances; however, Brisbane cannot afford to complacent. The last two matches between these clubs have seen the Tigers win with a combined 74-34 scoreline. The Broncos do enter this match in a vastly different state than last year with Reece Walsh, Selwyn Cobbo and Herbie Farnworth all having a brilliant season in the back line. The Broncos should put on a commanding performance to stay undefeated in 2023 and win at the 13+ margin ($1.72).

Reece Walsh has been the best of several improvers for the Brisbane Broncos in 2023. The star fullback has provided the exact type of spark the club needed with his electric ball-running and brilliant playmaking to support Adam Reynolds and Ezra Mam. Walsh’s support play has also seen the Broncos score points in scenarios they simply couldn’t in 2022. Look for Walsh to score two or more tries ($6) in another dominant performance from the back.

Despite recent history against the Tigers, the Broncos have shown so far this season they can score points at regular intervals in short periods of time. Should the Broncos get off to a strong start, the longer the match goes, the more points the home side is liable to score. Even if the Tigers don’t offer much going the other away, this could be a high-scoring affair with more than 44 points on the board ($1.90).

His tackle-breaking and offloading has been absolutely dynamic, and only one Tiger is capable of stopping the New South Wales Blues front-rower. David Klemmer has the experience and stamina to stand up in the face of Haas and minimise his impact in the middle third of the field. If he can’t, the Tigers will not be able to stop the Broncos.
