Brisbane Lions vs Fremantle AFL betting preview
Saturday’s AFL matches start off with this beauty between the Brisbane Lions and Fremantle Dockers at the Gabba, where Lachie Neale will face his old teammates.
Neither side was successful in round one, with the Lions losing to the Hawks and the Dockers narrowly going down to the Bombers.
The 10-week break has been a positive from an injury standpoint for both clubs but especially Freo, who now have Blake Acres, Stephen Hill, Jesse Hogan and David Mundy all available to play.

Stefan Martin suffered a PCL injury in round one that would normally see a player miss around nine weeks, but the break will see him make a return this Saturday.
There wasn’t much dividing these teams at the start of 2019, but the Lions have shot up the ladder and will take a heavy advantage into this game.
This will be another chance for new Fremantle head coach Justin Longmuir to get his first win as the man in charge.
Brisbane Lions vs Fremantle disposal tips
Lachie Neale 25+ disposals
Round one showed that with less time on the clock, players are getting fewer disposals than they normally would. Those seeing the most footy are the inside midfielders and the running half-backs, which is why we think Lachie Neale is the best option. No player gets more inside ball for the Lions than Neale, who will want to beat his former club this Saturday.
Nathan Fyfe 25+ disposals
Nat Fyfe is easily the best pick for Fremantle in the disposals betting. The high-flying Freo captain is dangerous in any contest whether on the ground or in the air, making him the complete package as a midfielder. Fyfe had 26 touches in round one and will need to produce a similar effort against the Lions if the Dockers are to have any chance.
Brisbane Lions vs Fremantle goalscorer betting
Charlie Cameron 2+ goals
Electric pace and surprising strength help Charlie Cameron kick goals week after week. The former Crow is a nightmare to match up on, toeing the line between livewire small forward and genuine marking option. The All-Australian will be even harder to handle if there is any rain about this weekend, as he loves wet-weather footy.
Sam Sturt 2+ goals
If you like the idea of a smokey for the AFL Rising Star award, look no further than second-year Docker Sam Sturt. The former Dandenong Stingray won the nomination in round one for his three-goal effort in a narrow loss to Essendon. His bodywork on the likes of Michael Hurley suggests Sturt is going to be a difficult forward to contain.
Brisbane Lions vs Fremantle match predictions
Under 131.5 total points
It would be foolish to read too much into Fremantle’s forgettable first-round clash with Essendon, but the Dockers did manage to keep the Dons to 63 points after giving up five goals in the first quarter. Combine that with the ever-improving Brisbane defence led by Harris Andrews, and this one should go under the 131.5 line.
We really like the way Chris Fagan is coaching the Lions, who should be a huge threat later in the year. This will be an early confidence-booster where the Brissie boys can flex their muscles and show us how talented they really are.
