Brisbane Heat vs Sydney Sixers BBL13 preview
The New Year’s Day BBL13 double-header wraps up in Brisbane with the Heat hosting the Sydney Sixers at The Gabba.
The Sydney Sixers won their first three games of the season before losing to the Stars at the SCG, and rain cut short their run-chase against the Thunder. The batters have all contributed at points this season, while Ben Dwarshuis, Sean Abbott, and Jack Edwards have all taken wickets with the ball in hand. Tom Curran is still suspended for his actions leading up to the Sixers match against the Hurricanes.
The Brisbane Heat have been the form team of the tournament this summer, securing four wins from their five matches, with one rained out. The home side has already shown this season that they can set totals or chase them down to win. Colin Munro still sits in the top five run scorers for the season, while Xavier Bartlett and Mitchell Swepson sit inside the top ten wicket takers.

Brisbane Heat vs Sydney Sixers betting predictions
The Heat have only been beaten by the Perth Scorchers at The Gabba since the start of BBBL 12. The Heat have won their last four matches against the Sixers, with two of those wins coming at The Gabba. At -125 with the top bookmakers, the Heat are the best bet to win this match.
Despite his first-ball duck on Wednesday against the Thunder, captain Munro has been in excellent form at the top of the batting order, with his 99 not-out in the competition’s opening game against the Stars serving as a highlight. The Gabba is always generally a great batting wicket, one that Munro enjoys, which should see him be the Heat’s leading runscorer for the match (+250).
Mitchell Swepson has been in brilliant form with the ball, taking six wickets in his last four games at The Gabba. The additional pace and bounce of the wicket often catch batters off guard, who mistime shots to fielders in the outfield. Should his form with the ball in hand continue, +120 with top cricket bookmakers for Swepson to take 2+ wickets in the match is a great value bet.
Similarly, Bartlett has played two of the last four matches at The Gabba, where he has taken five wickets in total. In particular, the quick’s ability to swing the ball early creates chances for dismissal by LBW and caught out, making him a very dangerous bowler. +100 is another great value play at Bet365 for Bartlett to take 2+ wickets in the match.
