Brian To’o rumoured to be leaving Panthers after 2024 NRL season

Penrith Panthers NRL news

News has emerged on Tuesday that Penrith Panthers winger Brian To’o could be moving on from the club in 2025.

To’o has played over 100 NRL matches for the Panthers and is consistently viewed as one of the best in the game in his position.

9News reporter Danny Wielder leaked the news on Tuesday via social media, saying:

“EXCLUSIVE: Select clubs have been informally asked if they have an interest in signing Panthers star winger Brian To’o.”

Final chance for Panthers dynasty

Penrith are already due to lose a host of their top players at the end of 2024.

James Fisher-Harris is heading to the New Zealand Warriors, while five-eighth Jarome Luai and winger Sunia Turuva are off to the Wests Tigers.

NRL bookmakers rate their chances of ending their current dynasty on a high, however.

The Panthers are paying $2.75 to win the 2024 NRL Grand Final, ahead of the Sydney Roosters and Melbourne Storm at $4 apiece.

Penrith may have to settle for second place in the regular season, however, as the Storm are four points ahead of them on the NRL ladder with six weeks to go.

Online bookies put Melbourne at $1.45 to win the minor premiership. The Panthers trail at $2.75.

Top spot to be determined in round 24

Which team finishes top in 2024 could be decided in round 24, when the Panthers and Storm clash in a top-of-the-table encounter.

The two are due to play on August 15 at BlueBet Stadium.

Should the Panthers win, they would close the gap on the Storm, who also play top-eight teams in the Dolphins and Cowboys as part of their run to the finals.

The Panthers, on the other hand, have a comparatively easy end to the regular season.

They face no sides that are currently in the top eight, with the Knights, Eels, Raiders, Rabbitohs and Titans in their remaining matches.
