Blake Shinn to miss G1 ride in Adelaide

Lindsay Park will require a new jockey to ride Catchy in the Group One Robert Sangster Stakes at Morphettville after Blake Shinn was suspended at Randwick.

Racing NSW stewards imposed a six-meeting ban after finding Shinn guilty of careless riding on I Like It Easy during the Unconquered Plate (1200m).

Shinn pleaded not guilty and can appeal on Thursday.

If the suspension stands he will be unable to ride three-year-old filly Catchy as the ban begins on Saturday week, to coincide with the Robert Sangster Stakes meeting at Morphettville.

Stewards said Shinn shifted in when insufficiently clear of eventual third placegetter Colombina, ridden by Brenton Avdulla at the 800m.

Colombina was checked to avoid the heels of I Like It Easy while Robert Thompson and Mandalong One Up also had to take evasive action.

Shinn is free to resume riding on May 13, meaning he will also misse the Scone Cup carnival on May 11 and 12.
