2017/18 NBA betting tips

IT has not taken long for the 2017/18 NBA Championship season to throw up some big surprises.

Short-priced title favourites Golden State have lost two of their opening three games, conceding nearly 350 points in the process.

Cleveland also suffered a big upset last time out, going down 114-93 to the Orland Magic – one of the supposed easy-beats in the Eastern Conference.

Can the big boys turn it around on Tuesday, or will it be another day out for the competition’s underdogs?

NBA Tuesday multi tips

Multi pays $6.29 at Sportsbet

Philadelphia 76ers at Detroit Pistons

10am AEDT – Little Caesars Arena, Detroit

Philadelphia – $2.25
Detroit – $1.64

Despite the best efforts of gun rookie Ben Simmons, the 76ers are 0-3 after a heavy defeat to Toronto at the weekend. A four-point loss to the unbeaten Washington Wizards is the only blotch on Detroit’s copybook after their stunning come-from-behind win over the Knicks in New York. The Pistons have the momentum and should be up and about on their new home court.

Charlotte Hornets at Milwaukee Bucks

11am AEDT – BMO Harris Bradley Center, Milwaukee

Charlotte – $3.22
Milwaukee – $1.37

Having been pumped by the Pistons in their season opener, the Hornets bounced back at the weekend with a strong 109-91 victory the Atlanta Hawks. They face an altogether different prospect on Tuesday in Milwaukee, who have two wins from three after Giannis Antetokounmpo dragged them over the line against Portland. Back the Bucks.

Memphis Grizzlies at Houston Rockets

11am AEDT – Toyota Center, Houston

Memphis – $3.85
Houston – $1.28

Both these teams are flying. A 3-0 record has seen Houston plunge from $14 to $10 in the NBA outright odds at Sportsbet, while the Grizzlies are unbeaten in two outings after their incredible win over Golden State. It is hard to split two in-form teams who have both humbled the title favourites, but we fancy the Rockets to continue on their upward trajectory.

Toronto Raptors at San Antonio Spurs

11:30am AEDT – AT&T Center, San Antonio

Toronto – $2.19
San Antonio – $1.71

One of only two unbeaten teams left in the Eastern Conference, the Raptors head to Texas on the back of a 128-94 demolition of Philadelphia. Spurs were not quite as dominant in a low-scoring affair at Chicago, but they did more than enough to claim their second win from as many outings. We need to pump some value into this multi, so we are taking the $2.19 odds on Toronto to go 3-0.
