AUS v NZ best bet tips
Australia to win
David Warner top runscorer
New Zealand top run-scorer – Devon Conway
Australia will be a narrow favourite with bookmakers for their clash against New Zealand in their ICC Cricket World Cup clash on Saturday.
Bookmakers have installed the Aussies at around the $1.67, while the Kiwis are at $2.34, despite having the more consistent form during the tournament so far.
Both of these teams are still in contention to advance past the group stage of the World Cup, with bookies having the Kiwis at $6.50 and Australia at $5 to win the tournament.
Here are our free Australia v New Zealand betting tips and prediction:
Australia Team News
After their poor start to the tournament, the Aussies have now found some form, winning their last three games including a record breaking 309-run win over the Netherlands.
Batting first, it was David Warner who continued his excellent form with another hundred. Before all-rounder Glenn Maxwell hit the fastest ever 50-over World Cup hundred off just 40 balls.
Defending the mammoth total of 399, the Aussie bowlers were very impressive, bowling out the Netherlands for just 90 runs. Adam Zampa continued his excellent World Cup as he led the way with four wickets.
The Aussies now face the dilemma of who will be omitted for Travis Head. Confirmed to return for the next match, the Aussies will have to decide whether to drop Marnus Labuschagne or Cameron Green, with the latter leaving the Aussies with one less bowling option.
New Zealand Team News
New Zealand suffered their first defeat of the tournament on Sunday night, as they fell to hosts India by four wickets.
Led by 130 from Daryl Mitchell, New Zealand put up a total of 274 that was considered just under par. In return they were unable to limit the Indian scoring, despite taking wickets throughout the innings, India chased down the total in 48 overs.
Needing a terrible collapse to miss the top four from here, New Zealand will still be confident that they are right in contention to win this tournament. Don’t expect any changes to the side, that has looked dominant, other than their last outing.
Australia v New Zealand betting strategy & tips
In a World Cup that has lacked close games so far, this one presents as the best opportunity so far. Both of these sides have looked strong with the bat, while having excellent wicket taking spin options. With the middle-order hitting quality that the Aussies have, they should be too strong for New Zealand at $1.67 with Neds.
After scoring hundreds in each of his last two matches, Aussie opener David Warner is always going to be the most dangerous batsman. Making the most of the early powerplay, back Warner in to lead the Aussies as the top run scorer at $4 with top cricket bookmakers.
Similarly for New Zealand it has been Devon Conway doing the damage at the top of the order. With 250 runs in this World Cup already, look for him to bounce back from a couple of low scores as the New Zealand top run-scorer at $4.
